At Northwestern Medicine, we are proud to provide high-quality healthcare to our patients. We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Patient Access Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for healthcare. The Patient Access Specialist will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing patient registration activities, and verifying insurance coverage.To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a minimum of two years of experience in a medical registration/patient access role, and strong customer service skills. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a high degree of computer proficiency, the ability to use basic office equipment, and knowledge of medical office policies and procedures. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
  2. Manage patient registration activities, including taking patient information, verifying insurance coverage, and completing necessary paperwork.
  3. Verify insurance coverage and provide insurance information to patients.
  4. Answer patient inquiries and provide assistance with completing paperwork.
  5. Ensure accuracy of all patient information.
  6. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  7. Process payments and update patient accounts.
  8. Utilize computer and office equipment proficiently.
  9. Stay up-to-date with medical office policies and procedures.
  10. Handle any other duties as assigned by management.
