Job Description

At Northwestern Medicine, we are committed to providing our patients with the best possible care and are looking for a highly-skilled Medical Assistant - Allergy to join our team. We are seeking an individual with a passion for providing excellent patient care and who is highly organized and detail-oriented. The successful candidate should possess a strong work ethic and exceptional people skills.The Medical Assistant - Allergy will be responsible for providing a variety of clinical and administrative services in the Allergy Department. The ideal candidate should be able to handle a variety of tasks in a high-pressure environment and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.The successful candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, have 1-2 years of recent Medical Assistant experience in a hospital or outpatient setting, and be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). In addition, a strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and insurance requirements is desired.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide excellent patient care with a focus on the Allergy Department.
  2. Handle a variety of tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  3. Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Maintain patient records and medical documentation.
  5. Assist with diagnostics and treatments as directed by physicians.
  6. Prepare and administer medications as instructed.
  7. Ensure that all safety protocols are followed during patient visits.
  8. Coordinate patient scheduling and appointments.
  9. Process insurance claims and other related paperwork.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology
