Job Description

The Manager of Patient Care at Northwestern Medicine is a key role in leading our exemplary patient care teams. We are looking for a highly organized and compassionate individual to oversee the operations of our patient care teams. The successful candidate will be a dedicated leader and mentor who is committed to providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field, and at least five years of healthcare experience, preferably in a management role. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of success in developing and leading healthcare teams, driving process improvement initiatives, and achieving quality and safety outcomes. In addition, the candidate should have outstanding communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations of patient care teams
  • Lead and mentor patient care teams to ensure exceptional patient care
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to drive quality and safety outcomes
  • Monitor patient safety and satisfaction metrics
  • Implement strategies to enhance team performance
  • Create and implement staff training programs
  • Facilitate regular meetings with patient care teams
  • Manage staff recruitment, scheduling, and payroll
  • Monitor budget and financial performance of patient care teams
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other departments, healthcare providers, and stakeholders
  • Analyze and report on patient care team activities
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
