Job Description

At Northwestern Medicine, we are looking for an experienced and organized Absence and Disability Coordinator to join our team. The perfect candidate will have excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently. We are seeking a motivated individual with the ability to think critically and utilize sound judgement in making decisions.The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field. Knowledge of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other relevant legislation is preferred.You will be responsible for administering and managing all aspects of employee absences and disabilities including FMLA leaves, ADA accommodations, short-term disability and workers' compensation. Additionally, you will provide guidance and support to managers and employees on these matters. We are looking for someone who is a passionate and dedicated professional who will take great pride in providing excellent service and support.

Responsibilities:

  1. Administer and manage all aspects of employee absences and disabilities, including FMLA leaves, ADA accommodations, short-term disability, and workers' compensation.
  2. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on matters related to employee absences and disabilities.
  3. Monitor and track employee absences to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  4. Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to employee absences and disabilities.
  5. Maintain up-to-date records of employee absences and disabilities.
  6. Prepare and analyze reports related to employee absences and disabilities.
  7. Facilitate communication between managers and employees regarding absence and disability-related issues.
  8. Respond to inquiries and complaints from employees relating to absences and disabilities.
  9. Ensure the timely and accurate processing of all related documents.
  10. Collaborate with external vendors and providers to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of services.
