
Telemetry Technician

As a Telemetry Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring patients' vital signs and communicating any changes or abnormalities to the appropriate medical staff. - Monitor and record patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels.
- Observe and interpret cardiac rhythms on telemetry monitors and report any changes or abnormalities to medical staff.
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate communication of patient information.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with telemetry equipment.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient information and telemetry readings.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to alarms and alerts on telemetry monitors.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Continuously monitor and assess patients' condition and report any changes to medical staff.
- Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families during times of stress and uncertainty.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on the latest practices and techniques in telemetry monitoring.
- Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.
- Act as an advocate for patient safety and quality of care.
- Foster a culture of growth and development by actively participating in performance evaluations and seeking opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Certification In Telemetry Monitoring: Applicants Should Have A Valid Certification In Telemetry Monitoring, Such As The Certified Cardiographic Technician (Cct) Or Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (Crat) From A Recognized Organization.
Previous Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Similar Role, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting, Is Required. Candidates Should Be Familiar With Telemetry Equipment And Have A Strong Understanding Of Cardiac Rhythms.
Strong Technical Skills: Telemetry Technicians At Northwell Health Need To Have Strong Technical Skills To Operate And Troubleshoot Telemetry Equipment, As Well As Accurately Interpret And Document Cardiac Rhythms.
Communication And Teamwork: As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team, Telemetry Technicians Should Have Excellent Communication Skills To Collaborate With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Provide Quality Patient Care.
Attention To Detail: The Job Of A Telemetry Technician Involves Continuously Monitoring Multiple Patients And Documenting Any Changes In Their Cardiac Rhythms. Attention To Detail And The Ability To Identify And Report Abnormalities Is Crucial For Patient Safety.
