
Surgical Technologist- Abdominal Transplant

- Prepare operating room for surgical procedures by setting up instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes according to surgical protocols.
- Assist surgeons and surgical team during transplant surgeries by passing instruments, holding retractors, and maintaining a sterile field.
- Anticipate surgeon's needs during procedures and provide necessary support to ensure the smooth flow of surgery.
- Monitor and maintain sterile field throughout procedures, including handling and disposing of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and comfort during surgery.
- Operate and maintain specialized surgical equipment, including robotic surgery systems.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of surgical procedures, including supplies used and patient information.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment in the operating room.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills in surgical technology, including attending trainings and workshops.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families before, during, and after surgery.
- Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Follow all hospital and departmental policies and procedures to ensure high-quality and safe patient care.
- Assist in transporting patients to and from the operating room and assist in positioning them for surgery.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technologist Program: Candidates Must Have Completed A Formal Education Program In Surgical Technology And Have A Degree Or Certificate From An Accredited Institution.
Certification As A Surgical Technologist: Candidates Must Be Certified Through The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa) Or Another Recognized Certification Board.
Experience In Abdominal Transplant Surgery: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Surgical Technologist In Abdominal Transplant Surgery, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.
Knowledge Of Surgical Equipment And Procedures: Candidates Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Surgical Instruments, Equipment, And Procedures Related To Abdominal Transplant Surgery, Including Organ Harvesting And Preservation Techniques.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Candidates Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills And Be Able To Work Effectively In A Team Environment. This Includes The Ability To Anticipate The Needs Of The Surgical Team And Assist In Problem-Solving During Procedures.
