- Scheduling surgical procedures for patients in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure all necessary information is gathered for each surgery.
- Obtaining and verifying insurance information and authorizations for surgical procedures.
- Communicating with patients to provide necessary pre- and post-surgery instructions.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of scheduled surgeries and patient information.
- Collaborating with operating room staff to ensure equipment and supplies are available for scheduled surgeries.
- Resolving any scheduling conflicts or issues that may arise.
- Providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families throughout the surgery scheduling process.
- Keeping up-to-date with hospital policies, procedures, and regulations related to surgery scheduling.
- Participating in training and educational opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Maintaining confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and answering phone calls.

Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures: A Surgery Scheduler At Northwell Health Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Different Surgical Procedures, Including Terminology, Equipment, And Patient Preparation.
Experience With Scheduling Software: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Prior Experience Using Scheduling Software, Such As Epic Or Cerner, To Effectively Manage Appointments, Block Schedules, And Track Patient Information.
