
Sterile Processing Technician

- Perform sterilization processes: Responsible for performing sterilization processes on medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and procedures.
- Maintain equipment: Ensure that all equipment used in the sterilization process is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly.
- Prepare and package instruments: Properly prepare and package instruments and equipment for sterilization, including following proper protocols for wrapping, labeling, and tracking.
- Monitor and record sterilization processes: Monitor sterilization processes to ensure that all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and documented according to established protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization: Ensure that all work areas, equipment, and instruments are kept clean, organized, and free of contamination.
- Adhere to safety standards: Follow all safety protocols and standards to prevent injury or contamination during the sterilization process.
- Collaborate with team members: Work closely with other team members, including nurses, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure that instruments and equipment are readily available for procedures.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve: Proactively identify and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the sterilization process and work to find solutions to ensure the safety and quality of patient care.
- Training and development: Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated on best practices, new equipment, and industry standards.
- Uphold quality standards: Adhere to all quality standards and regulations, including those set by the Joint Commission, OSHA, and other regulatory bodies.
- Maintain inventory: Keep track of inventory levels for instruments and equipment, and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
- Maintain records: Accurately record and maintain documentation related to the sterilization process, including sterilization logs and equipment maintenance records.
