Job Description

  1. Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments for patients in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and community outreach programs.
  2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
  3. Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address a wide range of mental health concerns, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse.
  4. Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to ensure coordinated and effective care for patients.
  5. Serve as a clinical leader and mentor for junior psychologists and other mental health staff, providing guidance and support in clinical decision-making and treatment planning.
  6. Conduct regular trainings and workshops for staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of psychology.
  7. Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects to advance the field of mental health and improve patient outcomes.
  8. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment plans in accordance with professional and legal standards.
  9. Adhere to ethical principles and professional standards in all aspects of practice, including confidentiality and informed consent.
  10. Stay current on the latest developments and research in the field of psychology and integrate this knowledge into practice.
  11. Collaborate with community organizations and resources to provide comprehensive and holistic care for patients.
  12. Take an active role in promoting the mental health services of Northwell Health and advocating for the importance of mental health in overall well-being.
  13. Encourage a culture of inclusivity and diversity within the workplace and strive to provide culturally competent care to a diverse patient population.
  14. Represent Northwell Health and the field of psychology at professional conferences and events.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree In Psychology (Phd Or Psyd) From An Accredited University.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Organization.

  • Current License To Practice As A Psychologist In The State Of New York.

  • Extensive Knowledge And Experience In Evidence-Based Treatments And Interventions For A Variety Of Mental Health Disorders.

  • Demonstrated Leadership Skills, Including Experience In Supervising And Mentoring Junior Psychologists And Other Mental Health Professionals.
