  1. Conduct thorough and accurate audits of medical coding processes to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  2. Identify and communicate potential coding errors and discrepancies to appropriate personnel for correction and improvement.
  3. Review and analyze medical records, coding guidelines, and billing requirements to ensure accurate and complete coding.
  4. Collaborate with coding and billing teams to resolve coding-related issues and discrepancies.
  5. Provide guidance and training to coding staff on coding standards, regulations, and updates.
  6. Develop and maintain coding quality assurance programs to monitor and improve coding accuracy and compliance.
  7. Stay updated on industry changes and regulations related to medical coding and billing.
  8. Utilize coding software and tools to review and analyze coding data and reports.
  9. Work closely with other departments, such as finance and compliance, to ensure coding practices align with organizational goals and objectives.
  10. Participate in coding and compliance committee meetings and provide recommendations for process improvement.
  11. Maintain accurate and organized records of audits, findings, and recommendations.
  12. Serve as a subject matter expert for coding and billing related inquiries and provide support to colleagues as needed.
  13. Uphold the organization's standards of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance coding processes and improve efficiency.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Coding And Auditing In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Icd-10, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Systems.

  • Strong Understanding Of Federal And State Coding Regulations And Compliance Guidelines.

  • Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills With Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
