
RN (Registered Nurse) - Postpartum

- Provide exceptional and compassionate care to new mothers and their newborns in the postpartum unit.
- Utilize knowledge and experience in postpartum nursing to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patients' needs and preferences.
- Monitor and evaluate patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to care plans.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians.
- Educate patients and their families about postpartum care, including breastfeeding, infant care, and self-care.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to new mothers during their postpartum recovery.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to coordinate and deliver comprehensive care to patients.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to maintain current knowledge and skills in postpartum nursing.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and preferences are respected and addressed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
Valid Rn License In The State Of New York: Candidates Must Have An Active And Unrestricted Registered Nurse License In The State Of New York To Apply For The Postpartum Rn Position At Northwell Health.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn): Northwell Health Prefers Candidates Who Have Completed A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, As It Demonstrates A Higher Level Of Education And Knowledge In The Field Of Nursing.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Postpartum Nursing: To Be Considered For The Rn Position At Northwell Health, Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Postpartum Nursing, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.
Bls And Nrp Certification: Candidates Must Hold Current Basic Life Support (Bls) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) Certifications To Ensure They Have The Necessary Skills To Provide Emergency Care To Newborns And Mothers.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Postpartum Rn At Northwell Health, Candidates Will Be Working Closely With New Mothers And Their Families, As Well As Collaborating With A Multidisciplinary Team. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.
