
Registered Nurse (RN)- Labor & Delivery

- Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients in the Labor & Delivery department.
- Assist in the delivery of newborns and provide support to mothers during their labor.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assess their physical and emotional well-being.
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Educate and prepare patients and their families for labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to create personalized care plans for patients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and document all procedures and interactions.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Continuously assess and evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families during the labor and delivery process.
- Stay up-to-date with current best practices and advancements in the field of maternal and newborn care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Handle emergency situations with professionalism and efficiency.
- Maintain a positive and caring attitude towards patients and their families.

Active Rn License In The State Of New York: This Qualification Is Essential As It Ensures That The Nurse Is Legally Allowed To Practice And Provide Care In The State Where Northwell Health Is Located.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn): Northwell Health Prefers To Hire Rns With Bsn Degrees As It Demonstrates A Higher Level Of Education And Knowledge In The Field Of Nursing.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Labor & Delivery: This Experience Requirement Shows That The Nurse Has A Solid Understanding Of The Specific Needs And Challenges Of Working In A Labor And Delivery Setting.
Current Bls And Acls Certification: These Certifications Demonstrate That The Nurse Has The Necessary Skills And Training To Respond To Emergency Situations And Provide Life-Saving Interventions.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Working In Labor And Delivery Requires Effective Communication And Collaboration With Patients, Their Families, And The Interdisciplinary Healthcare Team. Therefore, It Is Important For An Rn To Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills.
