Job Description

Northwell Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. We are looking for a compassionate and motivated individual to provide the highest quality of patient care possible. In this role, the RN is responsible for providing direct patient care to critically ill patients and their families. The ideal candidate will be a team player, have a strong work ethic, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.Required Qualifications: • A current New York State RN license • At least 1 year of acute care experience in the ICU • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team • Commitment to providing excellent patient care • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations

Responsibilities: • Provide direct patient care to critically-ill patients and their families. • Monitor patient's condition and update medical records. • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician. • Ensure that all safety measures are followed in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper care and treatment of patients. • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families. • Educate patients and their families on proper care and treatments. • Keep abreast of the latest medical advances and treatments for critically-ill patients. • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care. • Respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations. • Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and cleaned. • Participate in team meetings and other professional development activities. • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development through continuing education and training.
