  1. Conduct diagnostic sleep studies on patients of all ages using specialized equipment and techniques.
  2. Prepare and calibrate equipment prior to each study, ensuring accuracy and functionality.
  3. Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety and comfort of patients during sleep studies.
  4. Monitor and record physiological data during sleep studies, including brain waves, heart rate, and respiratory patterns.
  5. Recognize and respond to abnormal sleep patterns or emergencies during a study, ensuring appropriate interventions are taken.
  6. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans for patients with sleep disorders.
  7. Educate patients on sleep hygiene and provide recommendations for improving sleep quality.
  8. Maintain accurate and detailed records of sleep studies and patient information.
  9. Stay up-to-date on advancements in sleep medicine and technology.
  10. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  11. Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  12. Assist with training and mentoring new polysomnography technologists.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  14. Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients and their families.
  15. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to improve overall patient care and outcomes.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Polysomnography Or A Related Field, Such As Respiratory Therapy Or Neuroscience.

  • Certification As A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Through The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Conducting And Analyzing Sleep Studies, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of And Ability To Operate Specialized Equipment Used In Polysomnography, Such As Eeg, Eog, And Emg Machines.

  • Strong Communication Skills And Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team Of Healthcare Professionals.
