  1. Assist in the preparation and distribution of medications to patients in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Maintain an organized and efficient workflow in the pharmacy department.
  3. Handle medication inventory and ensure proper storage and disposal.
  4. Accurately enter and maintain patient information in the pharmacy system.
  5. Communicate with healthcare professionals and patients to clarify medication orders and provide necessary information.
  6. Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  7. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
  8. Assist in the resolution of medication-related issues and discrepancies.
  9. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient care.
  10. Continuously update knowledge and skills in pharmaceuticals and healthcare practices.
  11. Educate patients on proper medication usage and potential side effects.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  13. Adhere to all Northwell Health policies and procedures.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in maintaining pharmacy accreditations.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Pharmacy Technician At Northwell Health Is A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Math, Science, And Communication Skills.

  • Certification Or License: Candidates Must Be Certified Or Licensed As A Pharmacy Technician In The State Of New York. This Certification Is Required To Dispense Medication And Assist Pharmacists In Their Duties.

  • Knowledge Of Pharmacy Practices And Procedures: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Pharmacy Practices, Including Medication Dispensing, Inventory Management, And Customer Service. This Knowledge Is Necessary To Ensure That Medications Are Dispensed Accurately And Efficiently.

  • Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Retail Pharmacy, Is Preferred. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Understanding Of Healthcare Protocols And Procedures.

  • Attention To Detail: Pharmacy Technicians Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure That Medications Are Dispensed Accurately And According To Physician Orders. This Skill Is Critical To Maintaining Patient Safety And Avoiding Medication Errors.
