  1. Assist in the daily operations of the perioperative services department, including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining accurate records.
  2. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure timely and efficient preparation of operating rooms, equipment, and supplies.
  3. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing compassionate care and addressing any concerns or questions.
  4. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with infection control protocols and safety regulations.
  5. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal healthcare regulations.
  6. Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and ordering supplies to support the smooth functioning of the department.
  7. Monitor and report any issues or concerns related to equipment or supplies to the appropriate personnel.
  8. Participate in ongoing training and education opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in perioperative care.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care and a positive patient experience.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  11. Display a positive and professional attitude while representing Northwell Health to patients, families, and colleagues.
  12. Take on additional responsibilities or projects as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For A Perioperative Services Assistant Position At Northwell Health.

  • Previous Healthcare Experience: Prior Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Ambulatory Surgery Center, Is Highly Desirable For This Role.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Essential For A Perioperative Services Assistant To Effectively Communicate With Surgical Staff And Understand Patient Charts And Records.

  • Excellent Organizational And Multitasking Skills: The Ability To Prioritize Tasks, Manage A Busy Schedule, And Handle Multiple Responsibilities Simultaneously Is Crucial In A Fast-Paced Perioperative Environment.

  • Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency In Basic Computer Programs, Such As Microsoft Office, And The Ability To Learn And Navigate Electronic Medical Records Systems Is Necessary For This Role.
