- Assisting pathologists in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by preparing and examining tissue samples.
- Performing autopsies and other post-mortem examinations under the supervision of a pathologist.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all specimens and procedures.
- Ensuring proper handling and storage of specimens according to laboratory protocols.
- Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and infection control procedures.
- Collaborating with other medical professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis of diseases.
- Participating in quality control and quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of laboratory testing.
- Keeping up-to-date with advances in the field of pathology and implementing new techniques and procedures as needed.
- Providing support and training to other laboratory staff, as needed.
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in all aspects of the job.

Master's Degree In Pathology Or Related Field, Or Completion Of An Accredited Pathologists' Assistant Program.
Certification As A Pathologists' Assistant (Pa) From The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Pathologists' Assistant In A Clinical Or Research Setting.
Proficiency In Gross Dissection Techniques And Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures, Including Histology And Cytology.
Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team, With Strong Communication And Organizational Skills.
