- Conduct comprehensive eye exams and diagnostic tests under the supervision of an ophthalmologist.
- Assist with patient intake, including collecting medical history and updating patient records.
- Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.
- Educate patients on proper eye care and provide instructions for contact lens wear and care.
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist with minor surgical procedures.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the ophthalmologist.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and order as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in ophthalmic technology and techniques through continuous learning.
- Demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Follow organizational policies and guidelines.

Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience As An Ophthalmic Technician In A Clinical Setting.
Certification As A Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Cot) Or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Coa) By The Joint Commission On Allied Health Personnel In Ophthalmology (Jcahpo).
Knowledge Of Ophthalmic Equipment And Procedures, Including Refraction, Visual Field Testing, And Ocular Imaging.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interact Effectively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Maintain Accurate And Organized Patient Records.
