- Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations on patients to determine their suitability for anesthesia and identify any potential risks or complications.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists to develop and implement an appropriate anesthesia plan for each patient.
- Administer anesthesia to patients during surgical procedures, monitoring their vital signs and adjusting anesthesia levels as needed.
- Monitor patients post-anesthesia to ensure they are recovering safely and comfortably.
- Assist in the management of acute and chronic pain, including the administration of regional and epidural anesthesia.
- Utilize advanced nursing skills and knowledge to provide safe and effective anesthesia care to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including anesthesia administration, patient response, and any complications or adverse reactions.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in anesthesia techniques and technologies.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive and collaborative care experience.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
- Contribute to quality improvement efforts by participating in data collection and analysis, and implementing process improvements.
- Act as a mentor and resource for other healthcare team members, including students and new staff, to promote a culture of learning and development.

Master's Degree In Nursing With A Specialization In Anesthesia: A Nurse Anesthetist Fellow At Northwell Health Must Possess A Master's Degree In Nursing With A Focus On Anesthesia. This Advanced Degree Ensures That The Candidate Has A Comprehensive Understanding Of Anesthesia Principles, Pharmacology, And Patient Care.
Active Licensure And Certification As A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (Crna): Candidates Must Hold An Active And Unrestricted License As A Crna. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The National Standards For Education, Experience, And Competency In Anesthesia Practice.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Crna: Northwell Health Requires A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Crna For The Nurse Anesthetist Fellow Position. This Experience Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Providing Safe And Effective Anesthesia Care.
