
Mail Order Pharmacy Technician

- Process and fulfill patient medication orders through mail delivery according to company policies and procedures.
- Accurately enter and maintain patient and prescription information in the pharmacy database.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate delivery of medication.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate with suppliers to ensure an adequate supply of medication.
- Comply with all state and federal laws and regulations regarding the handling and dispensing of medication.
- Perform quality control checks on all medications prior to shipment.
- Handle patient inquiries and concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Use excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and uphold HIPAA regulations.
- Continuously strive to improve processes and productivity within the mail order pharmacy department.
- Participate in training and education programs to stay updated on industry developments and best practices.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Mail Order Pharmacy Technician At Northwell Health Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge Necessary For The Job.
Pharmacy Technician Certification: Candidates For This Position Must Be Certified As A Pharmacy Technician By The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha). This Ensures That The Individual Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Job Duties Effectively.
Previous Pharmacy Experience: Prior Experience Working In A Pharmacy Setting Is Preferred For This Role. This Includes Experience As A Pharmacy Technician Or Other Positions In A Pharmacy, Such As A Pharmacy Assistant Or Clerk. Experience In A Mail Order Pharmacy Setting Is Also Highly Desirable.
Knowledge Of Pharmacy Operations And Procedures: A Strong Understanding Of Pharmacy Operations And Procedures Is Essential For This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Prescription Processing, Medication Dispensing, Inventory Management, And Quality Control Measures.
Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: As A Mail Order Pharmacy Technician, The Individual Will Be Responsible For Interacting With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Insurance Companies. Therefore, Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Necessary To Effectively And Professionally Handle These Interactions.
