  1. Assist the labor and delivery team in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients during the childbirth process.
  2. Prepare delivery rooms and equipment for labor and delivery procedures.
  3. Provide support to patients and their families during labor and delivery.
  4. Monitor and record vital signs and fetal heart rate during labor and delivery.
  5. Assist with the administration of medications and intravenous fluids as directed by the medical team.
  6. Keep accurate and detailed records of patient care and progress.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the labor and delivery unit.
  8. Assist with patient transfers and positioning for labor and delivery procedures.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  10. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve upon skills and knowledge.
  11. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
  12. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  13. Support and promote a positive and respectful work environment.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  15. Follow established protocols and procedures for emergency situations.
  16. Assist with newborn care and provide support to new mothers.
  17. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  18. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment in the labor and delivery unit.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned by the labor and delivery team.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Labor And Delivery Setting: This Qualification Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Understanding Of The Specific Processes And Procedures Involved In Assisting With Labor And Delivery.

  • Certification As A Labor And Delivery Technician: Candidates Should Have A Certification From An Accredited Program To Demonstrate Their Knowledge And Skills In This Specialized Field.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Equipment: Labor And Delivery Technicians Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Be Familiar With The Equipment Used In The Delivery Room.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment: Labor And Delivery Technicians Must Be Able To Handle The Physical And Emotional Demands Of Assisting In The Delivery Of Babies, Often In Urgent And High-Pressure Situations.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As Part Of A Larger Healthcare Team, Labor And Delivery Technicians Must Have Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills To Effectively Assist And Support The Medical Staff And Patients During The Childbirth Process.
