  1. Provide exceptional patient care: As an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse, the primary responsibility is to provide exceptional care to patients in the ICU setting. This includes assessing patients, administering medications, and monitoring their vital signs and overall condition.
  2. Deliver critical care: The ICU is a high-pressure and fast-paced environment where patients are in critical condition. The Registered Nurse must be able to handle the pressure and deliver lifesaving care to patients with a variety of complex health conditions.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team: The ICU Registered Nurse will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists, to coordinate and provide comprehensive care for patients.
  4. Maintain accurate patient records: It is the responsibility of the ICU Registered Nurse to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, medications, and treatment plans.
  5. Educate patients and their families: ICU patients and their families are often overwhelmed and in need of guidance and support. The Registered Nurse is responsible for educating patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
  6. Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition: The ICU Registered Nurse must closely monitor patients and be able to recognize and respond quickly to any changes in their condition.
  7. Administer medications and treatments: The Registered Nurse will be responsible for administering medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician, monitoring their effectiveness, and reporting any adverse reactions.
  8. Adhere to safety protocols: The ICU is a high-risk environment, and it is the responsibility of the Registered Nurse to adhere to all safety protocols to protect both patients and staff.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives: At Northwell Health, we are committed to continuously improving the quality of care we provide. The ICU Registered Nurse will participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Rn License: Candidates Must Possess A Current And Valid Rn License In The State Of New York.

  • Bsn Degree: A Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Is Required For This Position. Candidates With An Associate's Degree In Nursing (Adn) Will Be Considered If They Are Currently Enrolled In A Bsn Program.

  • Acls And Bls Certification: Candidates Must Have Current Certifications In Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) And Basic Life Support (Bls).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Icu Experience: Candidates Must Have At Least 2 Years Of Recent Experience Working In An Intensive Care Unit (Icu) Setting.

  • Critical Care Nursing Certification: Certification In Critical Care Nursing (Ccrn) Is Preferred, But Not Required. Candidates With Ccrn Certification Will Be Given Preference In The Hiring Process.
