  1. Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  2. Conduct regular audits and assessments of infection control practices throughout the facility.
  3. Monitor and analyze infection data to identify trends and areas of improvement.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare staff to provide education and training on infection prevention protocols.
  5. Stay up-to-date on current infection control practices and recommend changes as needed.
  6. Investigate and report any outbreaks of infections within the facility.
  7. Serve as a resource for healthcare staff regarding infection prevention and control measures.
  8. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to infection control activities.
  9. Participate in infection control committees and meetings.
  10. Conduct risk assessments for potential infection control hazards.
  11. Communicate with local health departments and other external agencies as needed.
  12. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors for necessary infection control supplies.
  13. Assist with the development and implementation of emergency preparedness plans related to infections.
  14. Monitor compliance with infection control protocols and report any non-compliance to appropriate parties.
  15. Collaborate with other departments to implement infection control strategies throughout the facility.
  16. Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to infection control.
  17. Conduct investigations and provide recommendations for appropriate actions in response to healthcare-associated infections.
  18. Stay informed about new and emerging infections and provide updates and recommendations to the facility.
  19. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  20. Act as a liaison between the facility and local health departments or other external agencies regarding infection control.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Infection Control (Cic) From The Certification Board Of Infection Control And Epidemiology (Cbic).

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Public Health, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Infection Prevention And Control In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Current Infection Prevention Guidelines, Regulations, And Best Practices.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Train Healthcare Staff On Infection Prevention Methods And Protocols.
