
Infection Prevention Specialist
At Northwell Health, we are looking for an Infection Prevention Specialist who is passionate about creating a safe healthcare environment for our patients and staff. Our ideal candidate must have experience in epidemiology and infection control, with strong knowledge of regulatory standards. The Infection Prevention Specialist will work collaboratively with our clinical staff to ensure compliance with infection control standards, and develop strategies to reduce the risk of infection. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Monitor and evaluate infection control protocols to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Monitor and analyze infection control data, including surveillance of communicable diseases and environmental conditions, and develop strategies to reduce the risk of infection.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure compliance with infection control standards.
- Educate staff and patients on proper infection control practices.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance to ensure infection control protocols are followed.
- Develop and implement new strategies to improve patient outcomes.
- Research and stay up to date on emerging trends and best practices in infection control.
- Identify potential areas of risk and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide technical assistance in the evaluation and selection of infection control products and practices.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing
Master's Degree In Nursing
Or A Related Field
Clinical Laboratory Science
Public Health
Or A Related Field Preferred
At Least Five Years Of Experience In Infection Prevention And Control In A Healthcare Setting
Certified In Infection Control (Cic) Preferred
Knowledge Of Federal And State Laws And Regulations Related To Infection Prevention And Control
Excellent Written
