  1. Provide genetic counseling services to patients and their families in a compassionate and supportive manner.
  2. Assist patients in understanding their genetic risk factors and make informed decisions about their health.
  3. Conduct detailed assessments of patients' medical history, family history, and genetic test results.
  4. Educate patients and their families on the implications of genetic conditions and potential treatment options.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans for patients.
  6. Stay up-to-date on advancements in genetic testing and research to provide the most current and accurate information to patients.
  7. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation.
  8. Conduct genetic risk assessments and provide genetic counseling for patients at risk for inherited disorders.
  9. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families as they navigate through the genetic testing and counseling process.
  10. Participate in genetic counseling research and contribute to publications and presentations.
  11. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in genetic counseling practices.
  12. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  13. Attend continuing education courses and conferences to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills in genetics and counseling.
  14. Serve as a resource for other healthcare professionals on genetic counseling and testing.
  15. Maintain a professional and caring attitude towards patients and their families at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Genetic Counseling Or Related Field From An Accredited Program.

  • Certification From The American Board Of Genetic Counseling (Abgc) Or American Board Of Medical Genetics And Genomics (Abmgg).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Clinical Or Research Setting, Preferably In Genetics Or Genetic Counseling.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Current Genetic Testing Technologies, Ethical Issues In Genetics, And Counseling Techniques.

  • Excellent Communication, Interpersonal, And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Patients, Families, And Multidisciplinary Healthcare Teams.
