- Provide compassionate and skilled emergency care to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered by the physician.
- Monitor and assess patient's condition, communicate any changes or concerns to the physician.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their condition and treatment plan.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs and preferences are respected and addressed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to provide exceptional care and promote a positive work environment.
- Stay up-to-date with current emergency care practices and participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold the values and mission of Northwell Health.
- Adapt to changing work schedules and demands, including working weekends and holidays as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Valid Rn License In The State Of New York: Candidates Must Hold A Current And Active Registered Nurse License In The State Of New York To Be Considered For This Position. This Ensures That The Rn Has Met All Necessary Qualifications And Is Legally Able To Practice Nursing In The State.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Emergency Department Setting: Northwell Health Is Seeking Candidates With A Strong Background And Experience In Working In An Emergency Department. This Ensures That The Rn Has The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Handle The Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment Of The Ed.
Bls, Acls, And Pals Certifications: As An Emergency Department Rn, It Is Crucial To Have Current Certifications In Basic Life Support (Bls), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls), And Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals). These Certifications Demonstrate The Rn's Ability To Respond To Medical Emergencies And Provide Life-Saving Interventions.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Working In The Emergency Department Requires Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills. The Rn Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Providers In A High-Stress Environment.
Ability To Work Flexible Hours: The Emergency Department Is A 24/7 Operation, And The Rn Must Be Able To Work A Variety Of Shifts, Including Nights, Weekends, And Holidays. This Flexibility Is Necessary To Ensure Adequate Staffing And Provide Quality Patient Care At All Times.
