- Perform electrocardiogram procedures on patients, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Accurately record and interpret EKG results, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
- Monitor and maintain EKG equipment, ensuring it is in proper working condition.
- Educate patients on the procedure and address any questions or concerns they may have.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure proper patient care and treatment.
- Maintain current knowledge of EKG technology and procedures, staying up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures, taking appropriate measures to address any potential risks or discomfort.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the department.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, as well as safety and infection control standards.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all procedures performed.
- Attend required training and education sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times, promoting a positive and welcoming environment for patients.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by superiors.
Certification As An Ekg Technician: Candidates Should Possess A Current Certification As An Ekg Technician From An Accredited Organization, Such As The American Society Of Phlebotomy Technicians Or The National Healthcareer Association.
Education And Training: A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Typically Required For An Ekg Technician Position. Additionally, Candidates Should Have Completed A Certified Ekg Technician Training Program, Which Includes Coursework In Anatomy, Physiology, And Ekg Interpretation.
Strong Communication Skills: Ekg Technicians Must Have Excellent Communication Skills In Order To Effectively Interact With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Other Team Members. This Includes Being Able To Explain Procedures And Results To Patients In A Clear And Compassionate Manner.
Attention To Detail: Ekg Technicians Must Be Detail-Oriented In Order To Accurately Perform And Interpret Ekg Tests. They Must Also Be Able To Recognize Abnormalities And Communicate Them To The Appropriate Medical Professionals.
