
Director, Infection Prevention

- Develop and implement infection prevention policies, procedures, and protocols across all Northwell Health facilities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to infection prevention and control.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of infection risk and implement corrective actions.
- Provide leadership and guidance to infection prevention staff, including training and development.
- Collaborate with other departments and healthcare providers to promote a culture of infection prevention and control.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research, trends, and best practices in infection prevention and make recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and organizations to share best practices and stay informed on industry developments.
- Monitor and analyze infection data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and manage infection prevention budget, including identifying and securing necessary resources.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for infection prevention-related inquiries and concerns.
- Oversee the investigation of potential and confirmed infections and implement appropriate control measures.
- Respond to infection outbreaks and emergencies as needed.
- Communicate regularly with senior leadership regarding infection prevention efforts, progress, and challenges.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to educate patients and the community about infection prevention and Northwell Health's efforts.
- Ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all staff by implementing infection prevention measures and providing necessary resources and support.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Or A Related Field.
Certification In Infection Control (Cic) From The Certification Board Of Infection Control And Epidemiology (Cbic).
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Infection Prevention, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Infection Control Practices, Regulations, And Guidelines From Organizations Such As The Centers For Disease Control And Prevention (Cdc) And The Occupational Safety And Health Administration (Osha).
Proven Leadership Skills, With Experience Managing And Developing A Team Of Infection Prevention Professionals.
