  1. Perform various laboratory tests and procedures in the field of cytology to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders.
  2. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and precision in testing.
  3. Prepare and analyze patient samples, including tissue and cell specimens, using various laboratory techniques such as staining, culturing, and microscopy.
  4. Document and maintain accurate records of test results and patient information.
  5. Communicate with healthcare professionals to provide timely and accurate results, as well as consult on any abnormalities or discrepancies.
  6. Adhere to all safety and quality control protocols to ensure the accuracy and validity of test results.
  7. Stay up-to-date with advancements and changes in the field of cytology and implement new techniques and technologies into laboratory procedures.
  8. Collaborate with other members of the laboratory team to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing new laboratory procedures.
  10. Provide guidance and training to new laboratory staff and students in the field of cytology.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in handling patient information and test results.
  12. Comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards, including but not limited to CLIA, CAP, and OSHA.
  13. Attend and participate in department meetings, continuing education programs, and seminars to further professional development.
  14. Perform any other duties or responsibilities assigned by laboratory management.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Cytology Or Related Field From An Accredited College Or University.

  • Certification As A Cytotechnologist (Ct) Through The American Society Of Cytopathology (Ascp) Or Equivalent.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, Preferably In Cytology.

  • Knowledge Of Current Cytology Techniques, Laboratory Equipment, And Safety Protocols.
