Blood Bank Technologist

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Blood Bank Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of the blood supply, testing and analyzing blood samples, and providing patient care. Responsibilites:

1. Ensure the safety of the blood supply through careful testing and analysis of blood samples.
2. Provide patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all blood sample tests and analyses.
4. Monitor the quality of the blood supply and take appropriate action to ensure its safety.
5. Assist in the collection of blood and other specimens for laboratory testing.
6. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
7. Communicate with other medical staff regarding patient care and blood sample analysis results.
8. Provide education and guidance to other medical staff on best practices for patient care.
9. Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities.
10. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
