- Accurately process and review patient medical bills to ensure timely and correct billing.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing any questions or concerns regarding their bills.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as coding and billing, to resolve any billing discrepancies.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding patient accounts to ensure timely payment.
- Use electronic billing systems and other software to accurately document and track patient billing information.

- Assist in training and mentoring new team members.

Strong Understanding Of Medical Billing And Coding: A Successful Candidate For This Role Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Medical Billing And Coding Processes, Including Knowledge Of Icd-10 And Cpt Codes.
Excellent Communication Skills: As An Associate Patient Account Representative, The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Insurance Companies, And Healthcare Providers Is Crucial. This Includes Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills.
Knowledge Of Insurance Regulations: The Candidate Should Have A Working Knowledge Of Insurance Regulations, Including Medicare And Medicaid, As Well As Experience Handling Claims Denials And Appeals.
Proficiency In Electronic Medical Records (Emr) And Billing Software: Northwell Health Uses Electronic Medical Records And Billing Software, So Applicants Should Have Experience Using These Systems And Be Able To Quickly Learn And Adapt To New Technology.
