Job Description

Northern Trust is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Associate Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team. The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional, with excellent communication skills, a sense of ownership, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.The Senior Associate SDET will be responsible for developing and executing automated tests to ensure the quality of our software products. They will work closely with software engineering teams to develop test automation strategies, evaluate new technologies, and provide guidance on testability and stability of our applications. The Senior Associate will have the opportunity to shape our testing process and strategy and to contribute to the success of our products.To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field • 5+ years of software development experience • 3+ years of software development and/or scripting experience• Experience in developing automated tests and test frameworks• Understanding of software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, TDD, BDD)• Strong problem-solving and debugging skillsIf you are a motivated and experienced professional looking to join a rapidly growing team, we encourage you to apply today!

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute automated tests to ensure the quality of software products.
  2. Work closely with software engineering teams to develop test automation strategies.
  3. Evaluate new technologies and provide guidance on testability and stability of applications.
  4. Shape testing process and strategy and contribute to the success of products.
  5. Develop and maintain automated test scripts and test frameworks.
  6. Debug and troubleshoot software issues.
  7. Analyze test results and document any defects found.
  8. Implement test processes and procedures.
  9. Follow software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, TDD, and BDD.
  10. Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of accuracy.
