  1. Manage and maintain accurate financial records for private equity clients in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  2. Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  3. Perform complex accounting entries and reconciliations for various private equity transactions, including investments, divestments, and distributions.
  4. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data.
  5. Monitor and analyze financial data to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
  7. Provide guidance and support to junior team members, including reviewing their work and offering training opportunities.
  8. Participate in various projects and initiatives to improve processes and enhance efficiency within the Private Equity Accounting team.
  9. Communicate effectively with clients to address any inquiries and provide financial insights and recommendations.
  10. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive financial information.
  11. Continuously strive for accuracy and efficiency in all tasks and processes.
  12. Adhere to strict deadlines and priorities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial information.
  13. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the overall effectiveness of the Private Equity Accounting team.
  14. Proactively identify and address potential risks and issues in financial reporting.
  15. Collaborate with other departments within the organization to ensure a seamless and efficient workflow.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting Or Finance: A Sr. Accountant At Northern Trust Should Possess A Strong Educational Background In Accounting Or Finance To Understand The Complexities Of Private Equity Accounting.

  • Cpa Certification: A Certified Public Accountant (Cpa) Qualification Is Preferred For This Role As It Demonstrates A Deep Understanding Of Accounting Principles And Regulations.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Private Equity Accounting: Northern Trust Requires Candidates To Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Private Equity Accounting, Preferably In A Senior Role.

  • Knowledge Of Gaap And Ifrs: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Gaap) And International Financial Reporting Standards (Ifrs) To Ensure Accurate Financial Reporting.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: As A Sr. Accountant At Northern Trust, The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Abilities To Identify And Resolve Complex Accounting Issues For Private Equity Clients.
