Job Description

Are you an experienced specialist in the field of model governance and enterprise risk management? Do you thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment? Northern Trust is seeking a highly qualified Specialist to join our Enterprise Risk Management team. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of our risk models while also developing and implementing governance policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of model risk management frameworks and possess strong analytical and communication skills.   1. Develop and implement model governance policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of risk models.
  2. Conduct regular reviews and assessments of risk models to identify any potential weaknesses or areas for improvement.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  4. Monitor and report on the performance of risk models, identifying any issues or deviations from expected results.
  5. Provide guidance and support to other team members on model governance and risk management practices.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry developments and advancements in model risk management to continuously improve processes and procedures.
  7. Communicate complex technical concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, fostering a collaborative and effective working environment.
  9. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives related to risk management and model governance.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of model governance and risk management practices.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Model Governance Principles And Practices: A Specialist - Model Governance, Enterprise Risk Management Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Model Governance Principles And Practices, Including Model Development, Validation, Monitoring, And Documentation.

  • Experience In Enterprise Risk Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Enterprise Risk Management, Including Risk Assessment, Mitigation, And Reporting. This Will Enable Them To Effectively Identify And Manage Risks Associated With The Use Of Models In The Organization.

  • Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Ability To Analyze Complex Data And Identify Potential Risks And Issues Is Crucial For This Role. A Specialist - Model Governance Should Be Able To Use Their Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Develop Solutions And Make Informed Decisions.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Role Involves Collaborating With Various Stakeholders, Including Model Developers, Risk Managers, And Senior Management. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential To Effectively Communicate Complex Information And Build Relationships With Colleagues.

  • Regulatory Knowledge And Compliance: The Financial Industry Is Highly Regulated, And A Specialist - Model Governance Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Relevant Regulations And Compliance Requirements. This Includes Knowledge Of Regulatory Guidelines Such As Sr 11-7 And Sr 15-18, As Well As Industry Best Practices For Model Governance.
