  • Develop and enhance market and counterparty risk models for Northern Trust, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in risk management practices.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of financial markets and risk management techniques to inform model development and improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including risk management, investment strategy, and technology, to identify and implement solutions for model enhancements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing risk models and propose recommendations for improvements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in risk management, and incorporate them into model development and enhancement.
  • Communicate complex risk model concepts and results to various stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Conduct stress-testing and scenario analysis to assess the impact of potential market events on Northern Trust's risk exposure.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures related to risk management.
  • Train and mentor junior team members on risk model development and implementation.
  • Take ownership of projects and initiatives related to risk model development and contribute to the overall success of Northern Trust's risk management function.
