- Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance program for the Management Company at Northern Trust, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Oversee and monitor all compliance activities within the Management Company, including conducting regular risk assessments and audits
- Provide guidance and support to all departments within the Management Company to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Stay up-to-date with all relevant laws and regulations, and communicate any changes to the Management Company
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies and external auditors
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for employees on compliance policies and procedures
- Investigate and report any compliance breaches or incidents, and develop corrective action plans as needed
- Collaborate with other departments within Northern Trust to ensure consistency in compliance practices
- Serve as the main point of contact for all compliance-related inquiries and escalations
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of compliance professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their success
Strong Understanding Of Regulatory Compliance: The Head Of Compliance At Northern Trust Fund Services Ireland Limited (Ntfsil) Should Possess In-Depth Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements And Compliance Standards In The Financial Services Industry. This Includes A Thorough Understanding Of Relevant Laws, Regulations, And Guidelines From Regulatory Bodies Such As The Central Bank Of Ireland And The European Securities And Markets Authority (Esma).
Extensive Experience In Compliance Management: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In Compliance Management, Preferably In A Similar Role At A Financial Institution. This Experience Should Include Developing And Implementing Compliance Policies And Procedures, Conducting Risk Assessments, And Managing Compliance Audits.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: As The Head Of Compliance, The Individual Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Compliance Professionals. Therefore, Strong Leadership Skills Are Essential In This Role. Additionally, The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate Compliance Requirements And Updates To Senior Management And Other Stakeholders.
Knowledge Of Fund Services: Ntfsil Is A Fund Services Company, So The Head Of Compliance Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Fund Operations And Services. This Includes Knowledge Of Investment Fund Structures, Fund Accounting, And Fund Administration.
Proven Track Record Of Success: The Candidate Should Have A Demonstrated Track Record Of Success In Managing Compliance Programs And Ensuring Regulatory Compliance. This Includes Experience In Identifying And Mitigating Compliance Risks, Implementing Effective Compliance Controls, And Responding To Regulatory Inquiries And Audits.
