  1. Design, develop, and maintain our infrastructure and applications to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and provide solutions that align with our overall business objectives.
  3. Automate deployment processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  4. Monitor and troubleshoot systems to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in DevOps methodologies and tools.
  6. Lead and participate in code reviews and ensure code quality and security standards are met.
  7. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for smooth and efficient software delivery.
  8. Work closely with developers and testers to ensure smooth integration and deployment of new features and updates.
  9. Develop and maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to infrastructure and applications.
  10. Continuously identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.
  11. Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards.
  12. Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  13. Train and mentor junior team members on DevOps practices and tools.
  14. Participate in on-call rotation for support and troubleshooting of production issues.
  15. Contribute to the overall success and growth of the organization by actively participating in team meetings and sharing ideas for process improvements.

Job Qualifications
  • Proficiency In Automation Tools: A Devops Engineer At Northern Trust Must Possess A Strong Understanding Of Automation Tools Like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Or Saltstack. They Should Be Able To Use These Tools To Automate The Deployment And Configuration Of Infrastructure And Applications.

  • Knowledge Of Cloud Computing: With Northern Trust Transitioning To The Cloud, A Devops Engineer Must Have Experience Working With Cloud Platforms Like Aws, Azure, Or Google Cloud. They Should Be Comfortable Deploying And Managing Applications In A Cloud Environment.

  • Experience With Ci/Cd: A Devops Engineer Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Continuous Integration And Continuous Delivery (Ci/Cd) Pipelines. They Should Be Able To Set Up And Maintain These Pipelines To Enable Faster And More Frequent Deployments.

  • Strong Coding Skills: A Devops Engineer Must Have A Strong Background In Coding And Scripting Languages Like Python, Ruby, Bash, Or Powershell. They Should Be Able To Write Code To Automate Tasks And Improve Processes.

  • Knowledge Of Monitoring And Logging Tools: A Devops Engineer Must Have Experience Working With Monitoring And Logging Tools Like Nagios, Splunk, Or Elk Stack. They Should Be Able To Use These Tools To Proactively Monitor And Troubleshoot Issues In The Infrastructure And Applications.
