Job Description

Northern Trust is searching for an experienced Accountant with expertise in Private Equity to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who has a strong background in accounting and a proven track record of success in the private equity space. We are looking for someone who is an effective communicator, collaborator, and problem-solver who is passionate about their work and committed to excellence.The right candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, as well as 3-5 years' experience in Private Equity accounting. Knowledge of the private equity industry, including the latest trends and regulations, is a must. An understanding of the accounting and financial principles, and the ability to perform complex financial analysis and calculations is also essential. Additionally, the successful candidate must be proficient in Excel and have experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare financial statements and other financial documents, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  2. Perform complex financial analysis and calculations.
  3. Analyze private equity transactions and investments to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry regulations.
  4. Monitor private equity portfolio to ensure sufficient liquidity.
  5. Keep current on the latest trends and regulations in the private equity industry.
  6. Develop and maintain accounting policies, processes, and procedures.
  7. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
  8. Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  9. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  10. Utilize accounting software, such as QuickBooks, to manage financial data.
  11. Utilize Excel to create financial models and reports.
