  1. Conduct financial analysis to support merchandising strategies and decisions.
  2. Create and maintain financial models to forecast and track performance of merchandise categories.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement merchandising plans.
  4. Evaluate and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  5. Provide recommendations for pricing, inventory management, and promotions to optimize profitability.
  6. Monitor and report on key performance indicators for merchandise categories.
  7. Identify and communicate potential risks and opportunities to senior leadership.
  8. Conduct competitive analysis to inform merchandising strategies.
  9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with merchandising teams to understand business needs and goals.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and market conditions to inform decision-making.
  11. Participate in the development and execution of merchandising strategies and initiatives.
  12. Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner.
  13. Continuously identify process improvements and efficiencies to enhance the financial analysis and merchandising process.
  14. Collaborate with finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
  15. Train and mentor junior financial analysts on best practices and processes.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience In Financial Analysis: A Senior Financial Analyst, Merchandising At Nordstrom Should Possess A Strong Background In Financial Analysis, Including Budgeting, Forecasting, And Variance Analysis. They Should Be Able To Analyze Complex Financial Data And Provide Actionable Insights To Drive Business Decisions.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Merchandising And Retail Industry: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Retail Industry, Particularly In The Merchandising Function. They Should Have A Deep Knowledge Of Market Trends, Customer Behavior, And Competitive Landscape To Inform Financial Analysis And Decision Making.

  • Strong Analytical Skills: A Senior Financial Analyst, Merchandising Should Have Excellent Analytical Skills To Interpret Financial Data And Identify Trends And Patterns. They Should Also Be Proficient In Financial Modeling And Be Able To Create Accurate And Comprehensive Financial Reports And Presentations.

  • Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Senior Role, The Candidate Should Possess Strong Leadership Qualities And Be Able To Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams. They Should Also Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Present Financial Data And Recommendations To Stakeholders At All Levels.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Finance Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Finance, Accounting, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For A Senior Financial Analyst, Merchandising Position At Nordstrom. A Master's Degree In Business Administration (Mba) Or A Related Field May Be Preferred.
