  1. Develop and execute financial plans for merchandise assortment to drive sales and profits.
  2. Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed recommendations for inventory levels and pricing strategies.
  3. Collaborate with buying and planning teams to ensure alignment on financial goals and strategies.
  4. Monitor and track inventory levels, sales, and margins to identify opportunities for improvement.
  5. Utilize retail math and forecasting techniques to create accurate budgets and sales projections.
  6. Communicate financial plans and performance updates to cross-functional teams and senior management.
  7. Identify potential risks and opportunities in the market and develop contingency plans.
  8. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitive landscape to inform merchandise planning decisions.
  9. Utilize data and insights to drive continuous improvement and optimize merchandise assortment.
  10. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
  11. Collaborate with visual merchandising team to ensure merchandise is presented in an appealing and strategic manner.
  12. Participate in the development and implementation of new processes and systems to improve merchandise planning efficiency.
  13. Train and mentor junior merchandise planners to develop their skills and knowledge.
  14. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial planning and analysis.
  15. Act as a brand ambassador for Nordstrom, promoting our values and delivering the best shopping experience for our customers.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Finance, Accounting, Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Financial Planning And Analysis, Preferably In The Retail Industry

  • Strong Analytical And Quantitative Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Financial Data And Make Strategic Recommendations

  • Proficiency In Financial Planning And Budgeting Software, Such As Sap Or Oracle
