  1. Monitor and analyze security systems and alarms to identify potential threats and suspicious activity within Nordstrom stores.
  2. Conduct thorough investigations into any reported incidents, including theft, fraud, and safety concerns, utilizing all available resources and technology.
  3. Work closely with store management and law enforcement to address and resolve security issues in a timely and effective manner.
  4. Continuously assess and improve security protocols and procedures to ensure the safety and security of Nordstrom's assets and employees.
  5. Train and educate store employees on security procedures and best practices to prevent and mitigate potential risks.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all investigations and incidents, adhering to company and legal standards.
  7. Collaborate with other departments, such as Human Resources and Legal, to provide support and guidance on security-related matters.
  8. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and make recommendations for improvement.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in order to proactively identify and prevent security threats.
  10. Provide exceptional customer service to all Nordstrom employees and customers, acting as a positive and professional representative of the company at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Loss Prevention Techniques: A Strong Understanding Of Loss Prevention Techniques And Strategies Is Essential For An Investigator In The Asset Protection Operations Center At Nordstrom. This Includes Experience With Cctv Surveillance, Auditing Inventory, And Conducting Investigations Into Theft And Fraud.

  • Investigative Skills: As An Investigator, Attention To Detail And The Ability To Analyze Data And Identify Patterns Is Crucial. Candidates Should Possess Strong Investigative Skills And Be Able To Gather And Evaluate Evidence To Support Their Findings.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Effective Communication Is Vital For An Investigator To Interact With Both Internal And External Stakeholders. Candidates Should Possess Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills, As Well As The Ability To Build Strong Relationships With Team Members And Outside Partners.

  • Retail Experience: Previous Experience In A Retail Environment Is Highly Desirable For An Investigator Role At Nordstrom. A Solid Understanding Of The Retail Industry And The Unique Challenges It Faces In Regards To Loss Prevention Is Important For Success In This Position.
