Job Description

Nordstrom is looking for an experienced and creative Apparel Tech Designer to join our team! This individual should be a passionate and detail-oriented professional, eager to bring their technical design expertise to our company. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, capable of working with multiple teams and developing innovative designs.To be successful in this role, you should have a strong working knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, and fittings. Additionally, you should demonstrate a keen eye for fashion trends and be able to translate design ideas into tangible products. We are looking for an individual who is driven to stay up-to-date and informed of the latest fashion trends and technology available.If you think you have the necessary qualifications and enthusiasm for this role, we'd love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop innovative apparel designs and translate them into tangible products.
  2. Use a strong working knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, and fittings to create new designs.
  3. Utilize an eye for fashion trends to create product lines that meet current market demands.
  4. Stay up-to-date on the latest fashion trends and technology available.
  5. Work with multiple teams and maintain excellent communication skills.
  6. Ensure that all designs are accurate and functional.
  7. Monitor the production process to ensure that designs are being produced correctly.
  8. Collaborate with other design teams to ensure that designs are consistent with company standards.
  9. Work with suppliers to ensure that materials used meet quality standards.
  10. Evaluate designs from a technical perspective to ensure they are feasible and cost-effective.
