  1. Develop and implement patent strategies to protect Nokia's intellectual property and drive innovation.
  2. Conduct thorough research and analysis of patent portfolios to identify potential opportunities and risks.
  3. Oversee the preparation, filing, and prosecution of patent applications.
  4. Manage patent litigation and disputes, working closely with external counsel.
  5. Stay up-to-date on relevant patent laws, regulations, and industry trends.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate potential new inventions for patent protection.
  7. Conduct patent searches and due diligence for potential acquisitions or partnerships.
  8. Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on patent matters.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as law firms and patent offices.
  10. Train and mentor junior patent professionals on best practices and industry standards.
  11. Represent Nokia in patent-related negotiations and meetings.
  12. Analyze and advise on the potential impact of new legislation or court decisions on Nokia's patent portfolio.
  13. Maintain accurate and organized patent records and documentation.
  14. Collaborate with other departments, such as R&D and product development, to ensure patent strategies align with business goals.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve patent processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Law: A Senior Patent Agent/Counsel At Nokia Must Possess A Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree From An Accredited Law School And Be Licensed To Practice Law In The Relevant Jurisdiction. This Advanced Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Legal Principles And Enables The Individual To Understand And Interpret Complex Patent Laws.

  • Extensive Experience In Patent Law: To Be Successful In This Role, Candidates Must Have At Least 5-7 Years Of Experience In Patent Law, Either As A Patent Agent Or Attorney. This Experience Should Include Drafting And Prosecuting Patent Applications, Conducting Patent Searches, And Providing Legal Advice On Patent-Related Matters.

  • Technical/Engineering Background: Nokia Is A Technology Company, And As Such, Candidates For This Position Should Have A Strong Technical Or Engineering Background. This Will Enable Them To Understand The Complex Technologies Involved In Nokia's Products And Services And Draft And Prosecute Patent Applications In A Variety Of Technology Areas.

  • Strategic Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills: As A Senior Patent Agent/Counsel, One Must Possess Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Identify Potential Patentable Inventions, Assess The Strength Of Existing Patents, And Develop Effective Patent Strategies For Nokia. This Requires The Ability To Think Strategically And Anticipate Future Trends In Technology And Patent Law.

  • Team Player And Excellent Communication Skills: The Role Of A Senior Patent Agent/Counsel At Nokia Involves Working Closely With Other Legal And Technical Teams, As Well As External Stakeholders Such As Inventors, Clients, And Patent Examiners. Therefore, Candidates Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, Be Able To Work Collaboratively, And Effectively Communicate Complex Legal And Technical Concepts To Different Audiences.
