Nokia is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as the Head of Policy and Government Affairs for Sub-Saharan Africa. As a key member of our global government relations team, you will have the opportunity to influence policy and promote Nokia's interests in this rapidly growing market.   1. Develop and implement a comprehensive policy and government affairs strategy for Sub-Saharan Africa that aligns with Nokia's overall objectives and priorities.
  2. Monitor and analyze political and regulatory developments in the region to anticipate potential impacts on Nokia's business and proactively develop strategies to address them.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with key government officials, policymakers, and industry stakeholders in Sub-Saharan Africa to advocate for Nokia's interests and influence policy decisions.
  4. Represent Nokia at relevant industry events and engage in high-level discussions with government officials to promote the company's vision and solutions.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Nokia to ensure alignment of policy and government affairs efforts with other business functions.
  6. Provide guidance and support to local teams in Sub-Saharan Africa on navigating regulatory and policy issues.
  7. Conduct regular risk assessments and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential risks related to policy and government affairs in the region.
  8. Monitor and manage compliance with local laws and regulations related to government affairs.
  9. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in government affairs to continuously improve Nokia's approach.
  10. Prepare and present reports and updates to senior management on the status of policy and government affairs initiatives in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  11. Manage a team of government affairs professionals and provide mentorship and guidance to support their development and success.
  12. Collaborate with other global government affairs teams to share best practices and ensure consistency in approach across regions.
  13. Act as a thought leader and spokesperson for Nokia on policy and government affairs issues in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Public Policy, International Relations, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Government Affairs, Policy Advocacy, And/Or Regulatory Affairs In Sub-Saharan Africa.

  • Strong Understanding Of The Political And Regulatory Landscape In Sub-Saharan Africa, Including Key Stakeholders And Decision-Making Processes.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successfully Developing And Implementing Government Relations Strategies In The Region.

  • Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Build Relationships With Government Officials, Industry Associations, And Other Stakeholders.
