Category Buyer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Category Buyer to join our team at NEXT plc. In this role, you’ll be responsible for identifying, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure our products are purchased at the best possible price and quality.The ideal candidate will have a track record of successful buying activity, a creative eye for product trends, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities:

1. Manage supplier relationships and identify opportunities to purchase products at competitive prices
2. Develop and execute purchasing strategies to ensure the best quality and value of products
3. Monitor and analyze market trends to stay current on products and pricing
4. Negotiate contract terms and prices with suppliers
5. Prepare and manage purchase orders, invoices, and delivery schedules
6. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills when liaising with suppliers, colleagues, and stakeholders
7. Exercise a keen eye for detail when reviewing products and pricing
8. Work independently and as part of a team to achieve business objectives
9. Maintain an organized database of purchasing activities and product information
10. Make recommendations on new products and strategies to improve purchasing outcomes
