- Develop and execute the underwriting product strategy for New York Life, in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Lead a team of underwriting professionals to deliver high-quality and innovative products that meet the needs of our clients.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities for product enhancements and new product development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including actuarial, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment and successful execution of product initiatives.
- Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to make recommendations for product improvements and differentiators.
- Create and manage product roadmaps, timelines, and budgets to ensure timely and successful product launches.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all product development and launch activities.
- Communicate product updates and changes to internal stakeholders and external partners, such as brokers and agencies.
- Analyze product performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvements and optimizations.
- Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and preferences to inform product development and enhancements.
- Mentor and coach junior underwriting team members to foster their professional growth and development.
- Represent New York Life as a subject matter expert in underwriting product development at industry events and conferences.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures related to product development and launch.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop training materials and provide support for product education and sales enablement.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation in underwriting product development.
Extensive Experience In Underwriting: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have At Least 7-10 Years Of Experience In Underwriting, With A Strong Understanding Of Life Insurance Products And The Underwriting Process.
Product Development Expertise: As A Senior Underwriting Product Owner, The Candidate Should Have A Track Record Of Successfully Developing And Launching New Insurance Products, As Well As Enhancing And Maintaining Existing Ones.
Strong Analytical Skills: A Key Aspect Of This Role Is Analyzing Market Trends, Customer Needs, And Competitive Landscape To Identify Opportunities For New Product Development And Enhancements. The Candidate Should Have Strong Analytical Skills And Be Able To Translate Data Into Actionable Insights.
Leadership And Project Management Experience: This Role Requires The Candidate To Lead Cross-Functional Teams And Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Previous Experience In Managing Teams And Delivering Projects On Time And Within Budget.
