Job Description

The Budget & Expense Management Senior Accountant will play an integral role within the finance domain responsible for planning, budgeting, forecasting, analytics and reporting of New York Life’s expense base & strategic programs. Partner with key stakeholders on the Quarterly financial updates of in-flight strategic programs. Create monthly financial reports for key stake holders including pre and post allocated results. Audit all quarterly program submissions for data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Participate in the creation of CBAs, identifying all appropriate multi-year costs and benefits by engaging with key stakeholders across NY Life. Monthly accounting close activities with all required reporting and analytics. Develop accurate financial reporting packages including planned vs. actual performance including the investigation and understanding of variances, drivers and deviations from plan.

Job Qualifications
  • 3+ plus years of relative experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, and/or Expense Management

  • Advanced in Excel (pivots, macros, complex formulas, v-look-up, etc.)

  • Knowledge of GAAP Accounting

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction to achieve desired results
