Job Description

Nelnet is looking for an experienced and motivated Network Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network systems. You must have a deep understanding of network engineering principles and be able to identify and solve network problems quickly and effectively.The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must possess an analytical mindset and the ability to think critically when troubleshooting network issues. You will also need to be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.In order to be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field, and at least three years of experience in a network engineering or administration role. You should also have a strong knowledge of server and network infrastructure, as well as experience with network security protocols and experience administering Windows and Linux systems. Additionally, you should have experience with virtualization technologies and cloud-based systems.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain network systems
Identify and solve network problems quickly and effectively
Maintain server and network infrastructure
Administer Windows and Linux systems
Monitor and maintain network security protocols
Troubleshoot network issues and think critically to resolve them
Assist in the implementation of virtualization technologies and cloud-based systems
Ensure all systems are running efficiently
Document and maintain network configuration information
Provide technical support and guidance to users
Monitor system performance and optimize system performance where necessary
