Job Description

Nelnet is looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to join our team and ensure the organization complies with all applicable laws and regulations. In this role, you will work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer to develop and implement Nelnet’s Corporate Compliance Program.The ideal candidate for this position will be detail-oriented, have excellent communication and organizational skills, and be passionate about compliance and risk management. You should also be able to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field and at least five years of experience in a compliance or risk management role. Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer to develop and implement Nelnet’s Corporate Compliance Program.
Monitor and evaluate regulatory developments to ensure Nelnet’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Review and assess potential compliance risks and recommend best practices for avoiding or mitigating risks.
Maintain current knowledge of industry standards and best practices in compliance and risk management.
Prepare reports for the executive team regarding compliance-related matters.
Respond to inquiries from external customers, regulatory agencies, and other third parties on compliance-related matters.
Develop and conduct compliance training programs for staff.
Handle compliance investigations and audits.
Design and implement procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Track and monitor compliance-related trends and issues.
