Job Description

Are you a news junkie looking to break into the fast-paced world of broadcast journalism? Telemundo Area de la Bahia 48, a local news station owned by NBCUniversal Media, is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals for our News Internship program. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of news production, from researching and writing stories to assisting with live broadcasts. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about news and have a strong desire to learn and grow in a dynamic and diverse environment.   1. Conduct research and fact-check information for news stories.
  2. Write news scripts and assist with editing and proofreading.
  3. Assist with live broadcasts by operating equipment and monitoring audio and video quality.
  4. Collaborate with producers and reporters to develop story ideas and angles.
  5. Attend daily news meetings and contribute ideas for upcoming segments.
  6. Conduct interviews and gather information from sources.
  7. Assist with the production of graphics and visuals for news stories.
  8. Monitor news sources and provide updates on breaking news stories.
  9. Participate in training and learning opportunities to enhance journalism skills.
  10. Follow ethical and legal standards in reporting news.
  11. Maintain organized and accurate records of news stories and sources.
  12. Collaborate with other interns and staff members to ensure smooth and efficient news production.
  13. Represent the news station in a professional and positive manner.
  14. Embrace the fast-paced and ever-changing nature of broadcast journalism.
  15. Maintain a strong interest in current events and trends.
  16. Adhere to deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  17. Take on additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by supervisors.
